1.Wilt Chamberlin, 100 points, March 2, 1962
Wilt was looking unstoppable in the 1961-1962 season averaging 50.4 points and 25.2 rebound.
Wilt started the game off hot with 41 points at have and the warriors (Wilts team) had decided to see how far he could take it and began to give him the ball he ended with 100 points.
This was not his first with high scoring games he had ended his career with 6 games with 70 points or more.
2.Kobe Bryant, 81 points, January 22, 2006
Kobe was the closest to wilts 100-point games with 81 points. Like Chamberlin Kobe started the game out hot with s6 points in the first half and went off in the second half with an insane 55 points and a comeback win against the raptors.
Kobe averaged 35.4 points per game while also leading the league in points per game.
3.Wilt Chamberlin, 78 points, December 8, 1961
Once again Wilt is on this list and it will not be the last as he was looking unstoppable, Wilt had an astonishing 43 rebounds these games as well. Wilt played every second this game this game ended with 3 overtimes and wilt still ended up losing somehow to the lakers 151-147because jerry west had played phenomenal.
4. Luka Doncic, 73 points, January 26, 2024
Luka scored the highest number of points in a game since Kobe Bryant this was the most recent scoring record. This is extremely impressive considering the development of the NBA, Luka shot extremely well from the field shooting 25-33.
Luka is also the only player on this list who is currently still playing and potentially could score higher and be put on this list again.
5. Wilt Chamberlin, 73 points, January 13, 1962
One again on this list wilt performed these games less than 2 month after his legendary 100-point game.
Wilt ultimately changed the game of basketball and was a legend for his time and all time as well, wilt single handedly hs changed the game of basketball forever. Wilt didn’t do this 73-point game once but actually twice again November 16, 1962.
Honorable mention David Thompson 73 points April 9, 1978
David Thompson enters this game with a goal to score as many points as he possibly could. Thompson started the first quarter with an insane 32 points which still happens to be a record till this day.
Conclusion
Wilt Chamberlin undoubtably dominates this list and is an NBA legend however the game is always developing and hopefully this list will be updated soon with new record always being set.
This keeps the game exciting and these insane for all the players on this list. These high scoring games are reminders of the extraordinary height’s athletes can reach.
